Wilfrid Laurier has confirmed the sudden passing of a student on the Waterloo campus as of earlier this morning.
The identity of the student has not been released at this time out of respect for the family’s privacy.
In recognizing this loss, university flags have been lowered to half-mast.
“Losing a student has a significant impact on the entire Laurier community. Support is being coordinated for students and others directly impacted by this death,” Laurier’s statement said.
Students who are in need of support are encouraged to reach out to the mental health resources available on campus.
