Laurier community mourns passing of Professor Barry Kay

Wilfrid Laurier University is mourning the loss of Barry Kay, associate professor in the department of political science who passed away last night.
Named a “Legend of Laurier” in 2016, Dr. Kay began working at Laurier in 1978 and has left behind a legacy of over four decades of work as a professor.

He authored or co-authored over 40 academic articles and book chapters, wrote hundreds of newspaper opinion articles, and was frequently interviewed by journalists across North America, providing an undeniable influence on Canadian political research.
Dr. Kay would also frequently appear on Global News’ election coverage.
