Laurier hosts all-star game

The top female basketball players from the Ontarioโ€™s university ranks came together at the Laurier Athletic complex on May 1, as Laurier played host to the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) all-star game.

With fourth-year guard Renata Adamczyk representing the Golden Hawks on the West divisionโ€™s all-star team, the game pitted the elite players from each division against each other in an exhibition game, which was part of the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) under-16 provincial championships.

In the end, the West came away with a 68-63 victory, led by Amanda Anderson of the Western Mustangs, who put up 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal, on her way to game MVP honours. Adamczyk, meanwhile, chipped in with eight points and four rebounds, in what could potentially be the fourth-yearโ€™s last game on the Laurier campus.
