Hockey Hawks fall in Guelph

Rookies Alexander Poulter and James Marsden tallied for the Hawks, but the Laurier men’s hockey team fell to the red hot Guelph Gryphons by a count of 4-2 Saturday night in Guelph.

Ryan Daniels had a rare off night, giving up two weak goals, but still making 31 saves in another uninspired outing for the purple and gold skaters. Lakehead’s overtime victory over York at the same time means that Laurier holds a slim one-point lead over the Thunderwolves for second place in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Western Conference with two games left in the regular season.
