First COVID-19 case reported at Brantford campus

/

On Oct. 20, Wilfrid Laurier University confirmed that one student at the Brantford campus has tested positive for COVID-19.

This is the first reported case among a student from the Brantford campus. The individual is self-isolating, and does not live in a Laurier residence building.

โ€œThis confirmed case is being managed by public health. Their investigation found that there is no significant risk of on-campus transmission from the individual who tested positive,โ€ the statement read.

In the past 30 days, Laurier has seen a total of 21 cases between the two campuses. The total number of reported cases among students is 25.

Laurierโ€™s COVID-19 case tracker is updated, โ€œwhere there is both confirmation of a positive test reported to us and there is information indicating that the positive case may have been on campus while they were infectious.โ€

Updates to come.
