WLU professor receives $10,000 for research

Wilfrid Laurier political science professor, Dr. Thomas Hueglin has been named University Research Professor for 2009-10. The award give Hueglin $10,000 towards his ongoing research regarding federalism and political theory.

Hueglin has been at Laurier for 24 years, and the majority of his research has revolved around models of political design, specifically political thought and comparative federalism.

He is looking to bring together strands of political theory focused on multiculturalism as well as a more deliberative democracy and federalism with its divided government and sub-national autonomy.

Hueglin will be officially recognized during fall convocation, as the recipient of the award must present a public lecture featuring his or her research during the year in which they win they it.
