Soccer Hawks lose bronze in shoot-out

After being upset in extra-time by the Queen’s Gaels in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) semi-final on Saturday, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women’s soccer team played the Ottawa Gee Gees for the provincial bronze medal on Sunday.

After a tight 90 minutes of regulation, the teams went to extra-time tied at two. The additional half an hour solved nothing and after six rounds of penalty kicks the Gee Gees prevailed, claiming the bronze medal, leaving the defending OUA champion Hawks with a fourth place finish.
