Metric ends O-week with a bang

Proving to be one of the most memorable moments in recent Laurier history, Metric’s performance tonight had several thousand lucky first-year students on their feet, chanting and flailing, in the packed Athletic Complex.

Full of energy from start to finish, Metric delivered a solid albeit short set, performing every song to its fullest – Emily Haine’s sweet voice never missing a note.

While the four-piece indie band from Toronto denied its eager fans an encore – despite frantic pleas – Metric was an overall crowd-pleaser playing a mixture of classic songs like “Dead Disco” and newer hits like “Gimme Sympathy” and “Twilight Galaxy”.
