On Dec. 17, Waterloo city councillor Jan d’Ailly announced that he will be running for mayor in the 2010 municipal election. Currently d’Ailly is councillor for Ward 6 which encompasses Northdale, the predominantly student inhabited area north of Wilfrid Laurier University.
D’Ailly will be running against Mayor Brenda Halloran who is up for re-election. The election is expected to be held in October.
