A SCS officer on mobile patrol noticed three males carrying two white colored vinyl fold up tables on Mid Campus Drive.  They ran and the tables were discarded in the parking lot.  One male was apprehended and identified as a 22 year old intoxicated student.  The tables were identified as W.L.U. property.  They were stored in a secure place for the night.  The student was reprimanded for his actions.

SCS Dispatch received a report of two males sleeping on a mattress beside a parked car in the parking lot.  A third male was sleeping in the backseat.  SCS officers attended and identified the males as two 19 year olds and a 21 year old from the Walkerton and Kincardine area.  They had been out drinking that evening and got separated from the driver of the vehicle.  They were on campus to visit one of their friends.  The mattress had been found at the side of the road for garbage disposal and discarded of.  They were cooperative with the officers and allowed to sleep in the vehicle until daybreak in order to contact their friends.

A member of the band that was providing entertainment at the “O” Week event reported that his cell phone had been stolen from the band’s dressing room. Approximately 17 people from the band and their entourage had access to the room and investigation revealed that another member of the group may have inadvertently picked up the phone. Access to the dressing room was restricted and controlled by TNT Security.

Tanned male, approx 5’7”, 19-20 years of age, dark brown hair buzz cut wearing a yellow T shirt, blue jeans and sandals. A search of the area was conducted with negative results.

Two female students, one male student and one female guest were the victims of an assault that had occurred at an off campus location.  They had left a house party on Hemlock St. and were accosted by two unknown females and a male.  A physical altercation ensued and the female guest was assaulted by two females.  She received scrapes and bruises to her right elbow and both knees, two swollen lips, right thumb nail ripped off and a bump above her right eye.  The investigation has been turned over to W.R.P.S.  The male student was threatened to get cut by a male wielding a knife. The injured female was treated on scene by EMS and later admitted to Grand River Hospital for further treatment and observation.

1.  Female/Black, 19-20 yrs. medium build, dressed in pink

2.  Female/Caucasian, 19-20 yrs. long dark brown hair, wearing a long black sleeve dress

3.  Male, light brown tan skinned, 5’6”, tattoo of a spade on his neck, wearing a black bb Cap, black jeans & blue varsity shirt, armed with a knife.

Two female students were the victims of an assault on Hickory St. by two unknown females when they were walking home in the early morning hours.  They had been subjected to several racial slurs from the occupants of a house.  This verbal encounter then turned physical.  One of the students was then held down by one assailant and repeatedly punched and kicked by another female.  The investigation has been turned over to W.R.P.S.  The victim was treated by EMS on scene.

1.  Female, Caucasian, 19-20 years, medium build, long black hair with blonde

highlights, wearing a tight dress.

2.  Female, Caucasian, 20-25 years, mid-length black hair, wearing a tight black dress.

A staff member from the Seminary contacted SCS about a male making some inquiries about a choir rehearsal.  This male party has been previously trespassed from the Seminary and is to have no contact with anyone at this facility.  The matter is under investigation by SCS.

SCS is investigating a break in to a ground level unit at the student residence overnight.  Person(s) unknown ripped off a window screen on the south side of the building, entered the unit and stole a 13” white colored Mac Book Pro from a desk top.  There is no CCTV camera coverage in this area and no suspects.  Residence Life staff and duty Dons were contacted to have the students practice better safety precautions.

SCS is investigating the theft of two power drills (property of contractors working on site) stolen from the back of a truck parked on the south side of the building.  This occurred on Thursday, September 6th between 3:30 – 4:00 pm.  CCTV cameras will be reviewed for possible suspects.

Two black and yellow 12 and 18 volt colored ‘De Walt’ cordless power drills in black cases valued at $250 & $500 respectively.

SCS officers attended to the student residence at a residence in response to a complaint about suspected drug usage in one of the units.  Outside patrolling Dons had spotted a bong through a window.  A small amount of marihuana and some drug paraphernalia was seized by SCS officers for destruction.  An 18 year old female student will be dealt with by Residence Life staff for the narcotics violation.  A 20 year old male guest, London resident was issued with a written Trespass Notice and escorted off the property.

SCS officers and EMS attended to the Complex in response to a call for medical assistance.  A 20 year old female student was found to be experiencing breathing difficulties.  She was assessed by EMS but refused any further treatment from the paramedics and signed a release form exempting her from being taken to a local hospital.  She returned to her residence.

SCS officers attended to the student residence in response to a complaint of suspected drug usage called in by two patrolling Dons.  They had come across a door standing partially open in the building and noticed a strong smell of marihuana emanating from the unit.  A small amount of marihuana was seized by the officers for destruction.  The 20 year old male occupant will be dealt with by Residence Life staff for the narcotic infraction.

SCS is investigating the theft of a silver colored ‘Apple’ Macbook Pro valued at approx. $2500 taken from the gymnasium on Friday, September 7th between 9:30 pm – 11:15 pm.

One of the volunteers had last used it around 9:30 pm to deliver a video presentation to first year students in attendance and left it unattended sitting on a table in the s/w end of the room.  CCTV camera footage was reviewed with negative results.

A concerned student contacted SCS about a disturbing text message he and others in his residence had received from his 18 year old male roommate, a first year student.  His whereabouts was unknown.  A number of locations were checked by SCS and W.R.P.S. was notified.  He was located at Grand River Hospital by W.R.P.S. and turned over to SCS.  He had been rather overwhelmed by the O-Week activities and had gone for a walk.  He was found not to be a danger to himself or others and was taken back to his residence and left in the care of Residence Life staff.

An 18 year old W.L.U. male student was arrested on the sports field for trespassing by SCS officers just before the start of the second half of a football game between Wilfrid Laurier University and Queen’s University.  He had jumped over the railing from the bleachers onto the field.  He was issued with a Provincial Offence Notice pursuant to the Trespass to Property Act, released from custody and evicted from the premises.  He was also issued a Trespass Notice barring him from entry to the University Stadium.

Liquor Offence:

SCS officers issued a Provincial Offence Notice to a 19 year old non-student for the offence of ‘Have liquor in open container’ pursuant to the Liquor Licence Act.  He had been spotted by the officers carrying two bottles of open liquor.  He was served a copy of the Notice and sent on his way.

SCS attended to the student residence in response to a call for suspected drug usage.  Patrolling Don’s investigating some noisy tenants in one of the rooms had come across some drug paraphernalia sitting out in plain view.  Attending officers seized a small quantity of marihuana, three bongs and a grinder.  A 19 year old male student will be dealt with by Residence Life and was suspended from residence for one week.

SCS officers attended to the Terrace Food Court in response to an activated security alarm.  The premise was found to be insecure and unarmed with students cutting through the facility.  Premises were secured and rearmed by SCS.

SCS and W.R.P.S. officers attended to 77 Seagram Drive in response to a disturbance taking place out on the street.  A physical altercation had taken place between a male and female and had generated the gathering of a large crowd.  The male was temporarily detained but the female was gone upon the officer’s arrival.  No charges were proceeded with and the group was dispersed.

SCS officers encountered a 20 year old male student in the parking lot suspected of smoking marihuana.  No drugs were located.  He had been dealt with by the same officers the night before for drug usage.

SCS officers attended to the student residence in response to a group of males banging on doors and windows attempting to gain entry.  They were gone upon the officer’s arrival.  Their identities are known to SCS and they will be spoken to when located.

SCS is investigating a complaint about a parked vehicle (2012 black Kia Forte EX) having sustained damage to the hood.  This occurred overnight from Saturday, Sept. 8th 10:00 pm – Sunday, Sept. 9th 10:00 am.  Person(s) unknown had gouged several scratches across the hood of the vehicle.  CCTV video footage will be reviewed for possible suspects.

A SCS officer on mobile patrol discovered some damage in the underground garage.  A 6” plexiglass conduit elbow pipe suspended from the ceiling had been smashed.  Unknown whether it was done intentionally or struck by a high object during moving day.  A work order was sent to Physical Resources for repairs.

A SCS officer on mobile patrol discovered a broken window in the west side entrance door to the building.  There is no CCTV camera coverage in this area.  A work order was sent to Physical Resources for repairs.
