Bag O’ Crime Dec. 14-18

SCS officers attended to the Kitchener campus in response to a complaint of a suspicious person wandering inside the building. He was seen carrying a bicycle tire. He was gone upon the arrival of the attending officers.

Suspect Description

Male, Caucasian, 30-40 yrs. 5’ 10”, 160 lbs. thin build, fair complexion, brown hair, wearing denim or dark colored long sleeve jacket, dark colored pants, brown/dark colored shoes. Overall ragged/transient appearance.

Reported: Tuesday, December 15, 2015 @ 9:00 a.m.

SCS received a complaint about some graffiti located inside the Library on the 5th floor. A staff member conducting a routine check of the building had discovered a swastika in one of the study carrels. Person(s) unknown had used some green fluorescent sticky tabs and formed it into a swastika. It was removed by the attending officer. There are no suspects.

Reported: Tuesday, December 15, 2015 @ 6:32 p.m.

SCS is investigating the theft of a Mac computer charger taken from the Concourse on December 11, 2015 sometime between 5:00 a.m. – 5:30 a.m. The complainant had left it plugged into a wall socket unattended and upon his return discovered it gone. There are no suspects and CCTV video will be reviewed for possible suspect(s).

Reported: Tuesday, December 15, 2015 @ 8:00 p.m.

SCS is investigating the theft of a male student’s jacket from the gymnasium sometime between 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. while he had been writing an exam. The designer jacket was described as blue in color bearing the logo and red lettering of the ‘Chicago Cubs.’ CCTV camera footage was reviewed for the immediate area with negative results.

SCS received a complaint from a staff member in the library of an older man on the 7th floor singing and being disruptive to the students studying in the area. He was located by the attending officers and identified as a local Waterloo resident (UW alumnus). He was requested to leave the building and complied with the demand.

Reported: December 18, 2015 @ 4:36 p.m.

SCS is investigating the theft of an undisclosed amount of cash stolen from a residence room in the student residence. The victim had left his residence room insecure and upon his return discovered the cash had been taken from his desk drawer. There are no surveillance cameras in the area and no suspects at this time.
