Win streak comes to an end for MFOOT

The Golden Hawks lost to the Western Mustangs in this weekend’s Homecoming game, falling short with a final score of 29-13.

The Hawks, who haven’t won against the Mustangs in a regular season game since 2006, looked to repeat the results of last year’s Yates Cup matchup, where they were able to hold strong for a 43-40 victory.

Unfortunately, the team wasn’t able to repeat last year’s Yates performance and as a result they began to fall short early in the game. This loss, the first of the regular season for the Golden Hawks, drops their once-perfect record down to 4-1.

โ€œWestern is a good football team and I give credit to them because they were the better team today,โ€ head coach, Michael Faulds said.

The Hawks will face up next against the York Lions at York’s Alumni field in Toronto, kicking off Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
