5 years: Golden Hawk Cindy Eadie returns from Olympics

Laurier Golden Hawk’s goaltender Cindy Eadie returned from the 2004 Oympics in Athens after representing Canada for softball. Although Canada failed to produce a medal, Eadie reported the experience to be amazing. She returned to Laurier and helped the Golden Hawks to a Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) National Championship victory.

25 years: ‘Big four’ threatens to leave OUAA
The four biggest schools in the Ontario University Athletic Assocation, Western, Toronto, Queen’s and McGill, threatened to leave the OUAA (now the OUA). The four universities expressed a desire to play each other on a regular basis. They proposed having a separate league, allowing the big four to compete exclusively against each other.

35 years: Board approves higher grad student fees
Following a decision by the board, it was decided that arts graduate students would be required to pay the same fees as undergraduate students. It was decided that they would pay $50, which was to be divided equally between the Student Council activity fee and the Student Council Building operating fund.
