Men’s hockey falls in OT

TORONTO, Ont. — Ben Skinner and Phil Magistrale bioth scored but it was not enough as the Ryerson Rams upset the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men’s hockey team 3-2 in overtime on Saturday afternoon. On Friday night, the Hawks also lost in overtime, 2-1 to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.

An ill-advised hit from behind in overtime by Laurier rookie Kain Allicock gave the Rams a golden chance to take the game and former Hawks’ defenceman Troy Murray obliged by slipping the puck past an over-committed Ryan Daniels.

The Hawks took only two of a possible four points from a two-game road trip to Toronto, to face the Rams and the Blues. Laurier only scored three goals in the disappointing showing against two weaker opponents.
