Laurier Community laments the loss of Lorin Shalanko

Wilfrid Laurier University laments the loss of Lorin Shalanko, valued Coach Accompanist in the Faculty of Music. 

Since 1999, Shalanko contributed to the music department as a collaborative pianist. Prior to this, he gained an honours degree in performance from Laurier.  

As stated by Shalanko’s family, those wishing to contribute to his memory can donate directly to the Faculty of Music.  

In response to this loss, Laurier will lower flags to half-mast.  

The loss of an instructor has a profound impact on students and the university community. There are services and supports available for those who need them:
