Laurier announces approach to Spring, Intersession and Summer 2021 courses

On Jan. 20, Provost and Vice-President: Academic Tony Vannelli announced Laurier’s approach to the upcoming Spring, Intersession and Summer 2021 courses, in an email sent to Laurier students.

“Given the continued public health risks presented by COVID-19 in Ontario, the safest approach for our university community is to continue to offer undergraduate and graduate courses through primarily remote and online delivery for the Spring, Intersession and Summer terms,” the statement read.

The university has stated that it will continue to identify activities where in-person delivery may be possible, in a limited capacity, such as experiential learning courses that take place off-site, research base courses that require access to laboratories, practical study courses that require access to learning materials, courses that fulfil licensing or accreditation requirements, as well as other courses that can best be delivered in person.

Class and exam dates for the Spring, Intersession and Summer terms have also been released, with Spring term classes taking place from May 10 to Aug. 4, Intersession classes from May 10 to June 21 and Summer classes from July 5 to Aug. 16.

Updates to come.
