Laurier alumnus awaiting September court date

On June 3, Suresh Sriskandarajah, Wilfrid Laurier University alumnus, told The Cord that his surrender to custody scheduled for June 9 has been postponed until September. Sriskandarajah has been accused by United States authorities for providing software to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

An appeal against decisions by the Superior Court of Ontario and the minister of justice to allow for Sriskandarajah to be extradited to the US was scheduled for June 10. That has also been moved to September.

The new date for the appeal and the reason behind the postponement has yet to be confirmed.
