RIM may face cuts
For the second time this year RIM employees may have to deal with a round of layoffs.

With fewer people buying BlackBerry smartphones, RIM feels they need less employees to design and sell them.

While the announcement has yet to be made, reports estimate that 2,000 to 6,000 employees could be laid off.

After the company lost $125 million during its last quarterly earnings, it became clear the company needed a change. RIM wants to improve efficiency in production and supply chain in an effort to save $1 billion by the end of 2013.
A lot of speculation has taken place, but the company’s final decision on cutbacks has yet to be announced.
