A 22-year-old female student contacted SCS in regard to a romantic relationship that she had terminated, however the male counterpart has continued to contact her via the social network. He has been contacted by WRPS officers to stop his unwanted contact.

A concerned parent called SCS in an effort to locate his son that he has been unable to contact for the past week. Efforts were made to have him located. Assistance was also asked from WRPS.

Alarm
Location: Student Services Building
Date: Jan. 10, 2011 @ 2:20 p.m.
SCS responded to the Counseling Services Department in response to an activated panic alarm. It was discovered that the alarm had been accidentally set off by one of the employees.

SCS officers were one of the first responders on scene at a serious MVC that occurred at the intersection of King St. and University Ave. involving two motor vehicles and multiple pedestrians. They rendered initial assistance to the victims, traffic control and in obtaining witness statements until the arrival of WRPS and other emergency personnel arrived on scene.

A student reported that the windshield wiper on her car had been damaged while the car was parked in lot 3A. How the damage was caused is unknown but the student thinks Parking Services staff damaged it when they issued a parking ticket to the vehicle. There is no video footage of the area and the matter is being dealt with by Parking Services.

Date: Jan. 11, 2011 @ 4:47 p.m.
A student reported that person(s) unknown had used her lost One Card and spent over two hundred dollars. Investigation indentified 5 suspects who were subsequently found to be responsible. Restitution has been made and the matter is being forwarded to the Judicial Affairs Council.

Special constables attended an apartment at a residence to investigate reported marijuana use. Some drug paraphernalia was seized. Residence Life staff will deal with the individuals.

Alarm

Date: Jan. 12, 2011 @ 12:05 a.m.
SCS officer attended to room #3E08 in the Geography department in response to an activated burglary alarm. The premises were found to be secure. Cause of the alarm is unknown.

Misc. Assistance

Date: Jan. 11, 2011 @ 9:48 p.m.
SCS officer attended a residence in response to a misuse of a laser pointer. The resident was spoken to and the individual turned the pointer in to SCS.

Officers attended the 24hr lounge in response to a report of a female having trouble breathing. EMS was already in attendance. The subject refused to go to the hospital for observation. Her friends escorted her back to her residence. Our services were not required.

Date: Jan. 12, 2011 @ 3:06 a.m.
SCS officer reported a suspicious vehicle that was parked on WLU controlled property to the Waterloo Regional Police Service. The car had extensive damage to the right rear bumper and upper fender. The incident is under investigation.

Theft Under $5,000
A staff member reported the theft of a hard backed poster from the 1st floor of the Aird Centre. There is no video coverage of the area and there are no suspects.

WLUSU staff reported the theft of a portable debit payment device from Wilfโ€™s. The area where the item was stolen from is not covered by video footage. There are no suspects.

Unwanted Person
Location: Bricker Academic Building

Special Constable Service received a report of a male soliciting money from people in support of the hearing impaired. The individual was reported in various locations on campus and was eventually located in the Peters Building and advised that he would have to stop and leave the premises. No further action was required.

Special Constable Service investigated a report of marijuana use in a residence. A resident turned over a small amount of the substance. The matter is being dealt with by residence staff.

Special Constable Service received a report that someone has been making a mess in various washrooms in the Library over a period of about two weeks. Copious amounts of toilet paper and feces were found around the toilet. The matter is being investigated.

Special Constables responded to a report of someone making a mess in the Concourse stringing toilet paper all over the place. Two males were located and made to clean up the mess. The matter will also be sent to the Judicial Affairs Council.

A student reported that his lap top computer was stolen from his knapsack the previous day when he left it unattended for a period of time in a classroom in the Bricker Academic Building. There is no video footage of the area and there are no suspects.

Waterloo Regional Police and Special Constable Service responded to St Clements House after receiving a 911 call reporting some males in black hoodies and what was originally perceived to be a firearm were banging on windows on the first floor. Investigation revealed that some guests of a resident had arrived and decided to play a prank on the resident. The perceived firearm turned out to be a stick. Regional Police counseled and warned the individuals about the danger of this type of prank. The guests were evicted from the premises and prohibited from staying overnight. No charges were laid by Regional Police.

SCS officers and EMS attended in front of the student residence in response to a male experiencing breathing problems. A 23-year-old Acton resident (non-student) was taken to G.R.H. by EMS for treatment and observation.

Graffiti

Date: Jan. 15, 2011 @ 2:19 a.m.
A SCS officer on mobile patrol discovered graffiti at three different locations on the outside of the building. A suspect was captured on CCTV cameras at 1:17 am.
Suspect description:
Male, white, 5โ€™ 8โ€, slim build, short hair, wearing a blue baseball hat with a flat visor, a sticker on the visor and a logo on the front of the hat. Wearing baggy blue jeans, grey long sleeve shirt with a design on the front and dark skater shoes.

Mischief

Date: Jan. 15, 2011 @ 2:14 a.m.
Three unknown males were captured on CCTV cameras urinating on the Golden hawk crest on the 2nd floor just outside of Wilfโ€™s Pub.
Suspect Description:

1. Male, white, 6โ€™ 2โ€, 180 lbs. thin build, long curly blond hair, clean shaven, wearing

   Black jacket, blue jeans, and brown shoes.

2. Male, East Indian, black hair, 5โ€™ 10โ€, 160 lbs. clean shaven, thin build, wearing a

   Green winter coat, pink shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

3. Male, white, 5โ€™ 10โ€, 160 lbs. thin build, clean shaven, wearing a white winter jacket,

   Grey toque, red t-shirt, brown pants and black shoes.

The matter is under investigation.

Two unknown males were captured on CCTV cameras on the 2nd floor just outside of Wilfโ€™s Pub carrying a large โ€œWilfโ€™s Pubโ€ sign that had been removed from the wall by the front entranceway of the pub. The sign is valued at approx. $4,000.00.
The suspects are described as the same Suspect #1 & #2 mentioned in previous incident.
The matter is under investigation.

A female student reported damage to her vehicle while it was parked in the lot. Person(s) unknown had broken off the exterior mirror on the driverโ€™s side. There are no suspects and CCTV cameras will be reviewed for possible suspects.

A 17-year-old female student reportedly was not feeling well in the Food Court Terrace. She was exhibiting flu like symptoms. SCS, ERT and EMS attended and after being assessed she was transported to GRH by EMS for further treatment and observation.

Alarm

Date: Jan. 16, 2011 @ 2:11 a.m.
A fire alarm pull station was activated on the 2nd floor of the F.N.C.C. by the south stairwell. SCS officers and the Waterloo Fire Dept. attended. The source was located and the system was reset. There are no suspects at this time. CCTV cameras will be reviewed for a possible suspect.

Location: Dr. Alvin Woods Building
Date: Jan. 16, 2011 @ 4:16 p.m.
SCS was on foot patrol of campus buildings when an officer noticed extensive damage to a wall mounted garbage disposal unit. Physical Resources was notified of the damage and will have it repaired. No suspects at this time.

MVC Hit and Run
Location: University Stadium Parking Lot
Date: Jan. 16, 2011 @ 11:04 p.m.
SCS was contacted by Stadium staff regarding a hit and run that occurred in the main parking lot outside the front entrance. Officers responded and investigated as a suspect license plate was obtained by witnesses. WRPS was called for assistance and a WLU student was located and charged with failing to report a motor vehicle collision, which caused damage.
