ANTIGONISH, NS— A few hours after winning the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) bronze medal, Andrea Ironside, team captain of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks women’s team was named to the tournament’s all-star team.
Ironside finished tied for third in tournament scoring with three points, leading her team to a 2-1 overall record, on their way to the third-place finish.
A surprising omission from the all-star selections was Laurier rookie Devon Skeats. Skeats led all scorers with five goals, recording her first career hat-trick in the Hawks’ 3-2 win over St. F.X. and adding two more goals in the bronze medal game versus St. Mary’s.
