Waterloo Regional Police are currently investigating reports of gun shots near University Avenue and King Street.
It was reported that a 26-year old man was taken from the hospital at approximately 2 a.m. Friday morning. He was allegedly treated for non-life threatening injuries.
There is currently an increased police presence around the location of the shooting while investigations continue.
Although police have noted that they believe the shooting was a targeted incident, they encourage residents to maintain caution and report any suspicious behaviour to WRPS.
