Student struck near campus

Between 10:00 and 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night a female pedestrian was hit by a taxi on King Street, in front of King Street residence.

According to Daniel Isfanescu, the driver of the taxi, he was going through a green light and suddenly saw the pedestrian in front of his car. Despite Isfanescu’s efforts to stop, he “clipped” the female.

There is no indication at this time whether or not the female was a Wilfrid Laurier University student.

According Constable Luke, the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) officer on the scene, the female never lost consciousness and didn’t appear to have broken any bones. She was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
