LSPIRG annual meeting sees newcomers take roles

The Laurier Student Public Interest Research Group (LSPIRG) held their Annual General Meeting for 2011 on Jan. 27. Many students attended the meeting to vote on LSPIRG’s new board of directors.

According to LSPIRG’s marketing and communications manager Jonathan Rivard, no board members from last year have returned, mostly due to graduation. Rivard, however, is pleased with the diversity of the new directors, who range from business, arts, and science students, as well as several MBA and international students.

“I was really thrilled that we had such a turnover and a diverse turnover at that,” he said.
