Bag O’ Crime – Dec 8-12

Reported: Tuesday, December 8, 2015 @ 4:19 p.m.

SCS received a complaint of some property damage at the student residence. The attending officer discovered that several ceiling tiles had been torn down on the first floor. It was suspected that the damage was inflicted sometime between 1:00 a.m. – 2:30 a.m. on the reporting date. CCTV cameras were reviewed and several suspects were captured on video.  Attempts are being made through Residence Life to have them identified.

Reported: Tuesday, December 8, 2015 @ 9:25 p.m.

A female student contacted SCS in regard to having received unwanted lengthy correspondence via Facebook from two unknown males. The contact was annoying in nature.  The accounts from the unknown males have since been deleted. If they reconnect with the complainant the investigation will be reopened.

 

Location: Bricker Residence

Reported: Wednesday, December 9, 2015 @ 3:50 p.m.

SCS is investigating the break and enter of a residence apartment at Bricker Residence. A portable speaker was stolen from the apartment which was left insecure by the residents. The incident occurred between 2:30 a.m. on Monday, December 7 and 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8.

Reported: Thursday, December 10, 2015 @ 2:24 a.m.

SCS arrested a non-Laurier affiliated male found trespassing on Laurier property. The subject was issued a Provincial Offence Notice and escorted off property.

 

Location: John Aird Centre

Reported: Friday, December 11, 2015 @ 2:24 a.m.

SCS investigated a reported theft which occurred at the John Aird Centre East on December 10, 2015. A student left her laptop unattended in a classroom A133 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. during which time the laptop was stolen.

 

Location: PRISM Centre

Reported: Wednesday, December 9, 2015 @ 5:46 p.m.

SCS received a report of the theft of a laptop – rented through the University’s PRISM program. The laptop had been misplaced but the complainant has offered various locations as to where it may have been misplaced. Currently there are no suspects, but PRISM staff are attempting to utilize uploaded software on the device to attempt to locate who may be using it or taken it. Surveillance video will also be reviewed to determine when/where the laptop went missing, and if anyone was seen taking it.

Reported: Thursday, December 10, 2015 @ 2:24 a.m.

SCS officers observed a male, known to SCS as having been previously trespassed from all Laurier-owned and controlled properties, walking through parking lot 3A between Alumni Field and the Laurier Athletic Complex. The male, currently on probation, was arrested for violating the Trespass to Property Act. The male was released after being issued a Provincial Offence Notice.

 

Location: Fred Nichols Campus Centre

Reported: Saturday, December 12, 2015 @ 12:05 a.m.

SCS investigated a reported theft occurring at the 24 Lounge. The theft occurred around 9 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015, after the reporting student left her belongings unattended. A laptop and several pills from her prescription bottle were taken. SCS is investigating and reviewing CCTV for potential suspects.
