On Feb. 12, 29-year-old male Imre Czinczki was charged with the second-degree murder of 20-year-old Wilfrid Laurier University student Deron Camillus thanks to the support of cell phone, dashcam and surveillance footage acquired by police.
On Sept. 22, 2023, Camillus was out on King Street North near Bridgeport Road when he was stabbed by Czinczki while attempting to protect one of his friends. The two did not know each other. Â
Czinczki is due to appear in Kitchener court on Feb. 23.
