Local MP named Deputy Government Whip

On June 7th, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced the government’s caucus leadership team. Harold Albrecht, Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga, was named Deputy Government Whip, a position he held in the previous Parliament.

In this position, Albrecht will ensure party discipline in a legislature, making sure members vote according to official party policy. Albrecht will continue to act as a liaison for his caucus colleagues, ensuring they are able to attend events in their riding, receive appropriate committee assignments, and are present for crucial votes.

This is Albrecht’s second term in parliament.
