The Cord picks up three awards in CCNAs

Newspapers Canada announced the 2016 winners of the Canadian Community Newspaper Awards Friday morning. In the campus newspaper categories, The Cord picked up three shortlisted acknowledgements.

 

The Cord received a third-place nod in “Best Campus Feature,” for the piece “Is sex worth the risk?” written by Alanna Fairey, former Features Editor, in January 2015.

The paper also received a first-place acknowledgement for “Best Campus Website.”

The most exciting one of all is The Cord finished first for “Outstanding Campus Newspaper.” This is the first time The Cord has finished first since 2006.
