The Laurier community mourns the passing of valued Brantford Board of Governors member Rick Sterne.

An advocate for Brantford’s YMCA, Sterne was a Brantford LaunchPad mentor and supporter of the Brantford campus. He was also an active member of the Grand Valley Educational Society, Lansdowne Children’s Centre, Stedman Foundation and the Rotary Club of Brantford.

Apart from these exemplary achievements, Stern was a successful business executive and founder of Datasym Inc.

Noted to be a remarkable friend and generous with his time, Sterne was recognized for his efforts to support Brantford’s campus with the Canada Award for Business Excellence, the City of Brantford’s Ambassador Award and the Outstanding Life Achievement Award from the Chamber of Commerce Brantford-Brant.

To celebrate Sterne’s life, an event will be held on Jan. 27 at the Brantford Club from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
