H1N1 hits Waterloo Region

/

Region of Waterloo Public Health announced on Oct. 8 that there are five cases of H1N1 in the area.

The ages of those affected range from six to 26 years old. Four of the individuals had prior medical problems.

Only two of those infected required hospitalization and as of the announcement only one remained in hospital.

Public Health is encouraging all citizens to take extra steps in preventing the spread of germs this fall to combat the H1N1 flu pandemic. The Region is providing further information about the flu and prevention at www.waterlooregionpandemic.ca.
