The Lead Photo & Videographer will work with the rest of the team in creating photo and video content for the publication and social media. Whoever fills the position will need to be available to cover stories on both a planned and last minute basis. They will need to demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms. Candidates for this position must:
- Work with the Digital Production Staff, Editorial staff and the Creative director to produce photo and video content for different platforms;
- Have existing knowledge of photo and videography. Experience in editing is an asset;
- Have knowledge of multiple areas of photo and videography (i.e. sports, speakers, staged photos, concerts, etc.)
- Contribute at least three photo or video requests each week;
- Be available to cover stories during production;
- Attend All-Cord meetings;
When using social media in regards to The Cord or WLUSP, the photographer is expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner.
Applicants are required to provide any two (2) relevant pieces of sample work.
