On Feb. 12, Laurier was honoured at the Waterloo Tennis Club, winning the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Best Overall Campaign award for their 2004 Shinerama campaign. It was the third consecutive year Laurier’s campaign had won the award.

The Students Union unveiled a Research Internship Program, which will give students the opportunity to conduct research for a non-profit organization instead of writing an essay for a class. A student must have permission from his/her professor in order to take part, and demonstrate that taking part in the research is beneficial to your learning. The co-ordinator of Foot Patrol on Laurier’s Brantford campus Ryan Duncan was fired after several allegations against him. Duncan was accused of telling students that it was acceptable to drink in the Foot office and being in possession of marijuana while on shift.
