SCS received a report of a theft of a Blackberry Curve 9300. The complainant had been working in the Concourse near the Hub desk and left the item unattended on a table for two hours. He later notified SCS that the blackberry had been returned to him by a friend and no theft had taken place.

Injured/Sick Person Location: FNCC Reported: Feb. 5 at 11:24 a.m. SCS attended to the Turret Night Club in response to a call for medical assistance. A 19-year-old female student was assessed for a head injury sustained during a practice with her dance team. She received a kick to the head during a dance move and had temporarily ‘blacked out.’ She refused any medical attention and was released into the care of her roommates.

SCS and a Residence Life staff member attended to the student residence in response to a complaint of suspected drug usage. A small quantity of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia was seized for destruction. Two female students will be dealt with by Residence Life for the narcotics violation.

A SCS officer dealt with an intoxicated male party attempting to gain entry to the Bricker Academic Building. He was identified as a first-year 18-year-old WLU student. He initially identified himself with false identification. He was turned over to his duty Don and a Residence Life staff member and left in their care. A custodian called the SCS Dispatch Centre to report the theft of a large blue portable recycle bin taken from the hallway outside of Wilf’s Pub. She witnessed two males pushing it in the vicinity of Albert St. & University Ave. The theft was captured on CCTV cameras providing an excellent description of the suspects. Residence staff reported that sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 2 person(s) unknown removed the “house phone” from the wall in the south lobby of a Residence. Camera footage of the area was reviewed but the area where the phone was located is blocked from view. No suspects.

A 19-year-old female student was complaining of not feeling well after having taken an excessive amount of medication to relieve a headache. She was assessed by EMS and transported to Grand River Hospital for treatment and observation.

SCS is investigating the theft of a portable kiosk (Display stand) that was taken in the early morning hours on Sunday, March 13th . This is a display used on a regular basis by a Bank of Montreal sales representative soliciting business in this area on a regular basis. Location: Residence Reported: Feb. 28, 2011 @ 2:23 a.m. Waterloo Fire Department and Special Constable Service responded to a Fire Alarm at a residence. It was discovered that people cooking in suite #404 had set off the smoke detector. Station was reset and the Fire Captain gave the okay for the students to re-enter the building.
